And NO baby! We stood by and watched our due date pass us by yesterday. I had been warned and prepared this was most likely going to be the case (as a first time mamma) BUT when you have been saying OUR BABY IS DUE SEPTEMBER 26TH for the past 9 months, it still effects you when there is no baby by the stroke of midnight. Mom is here which really helped keep me busy and preoccupied all day. At the end of the day she took us out to an incredible dinner in Boulder, at Frascas, to commemorate a proposed due date come and go. I haven’t really felt…anything. I am hoping this baby just decides to come at any second!
Our appointment with Anita was refreshing today. Several of her September patients have had their babies and her stories are always so encouraging. Every birth is so unique, I am really excited to find out how ours will unfold. The only concern for us is that baby girl’s position has changed and she seems to be posterior facing. UGH. She has been in such a great position FOR MONTHS and all the sudden, she has twisted herself to a position that could postpone birth and cause a long annoying labor. Good news is she can and hopefully will turn any second. Pray for patience and trust in God’s perfect timing for our baby girl to arrive!
|HAHA, obviously ready to be done with pregnancy. I now seldom brush my hair, put on makeup or wear anything other than these fat pants….|
|This was sweetly displayed on my dessert at Frascas Monday night.|
It’s hard to say for sure how big the baby will be, but the average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds ( like a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long. Her skull bones are not yet fused, which allows them to overlap a bit if it’s a snug fit through the birth canal during labor.
