34 Weeks

Hello 34 weeks! So glad to see you and have no idea how you got here so fast. This leaves only 3 more weeks until “full term” (hopefully she doesn’t come that soon though). We had our midwife appointment last week and things seem to be progressing fine. I need to be gaining a little more weight (no idea how I haven’t) and try to clear up my congestion. Other than that, baby’s heart rate is great, my blood pressure fine and from the looks of me (whatever that means) everything is going well.

This week almost every night I have been having vivid dreams about going into labor or birthing this baby. They have been all over the place. I delivered in someone else house without Andrew, I delivered a boy, I went into labor in strange places, etc. I really think God is preparing me to let go of the whole process to trust he has control and that everything will work out fine. This eases my crazy pregnant mind and calms my nerves.

Baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.

  1. You look so great! It cracks me up though. You are all belly! I still stand by my previous stance that you look like a skinny, in-shape person with a beach ball just stapled to your tummy!
