Sitting on the couch or outside on our cushy patio furniture is my new favorite pastime. I have never sat so much in my life but it’s seems to be a fix all! If I’m tired, I just sit. If I don’t feel 100%, I just sit. If I have been busy all day, I just sit. So far, it seems to make everything better. This week I went on my first hike since having a belly and it felt AMAZING! My midwife emphasizes walking to an extreme and I think I am starting to realize why. My body definitely gets into a rhythm when walk and that is good practice for labor plus moving that blood around is always healthy. The hike was amazing because we took a large picnic so I got to eat in the middle = happy prego hiking lady.
We got out baby furniture today, SO FUN! Andrew and I both had a moment staring into her room with furniture in it…..this makes it feel all the more real! It’s beautiful and a HUGE thanks to Grammy and Pappy for the gift. Pics to come when the room is complete. The network of nerves on her ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both me and Andrew as we chat with each other. She’s inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she’s born and takes that first gulp of air. And she’s continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (like a hothouse cucumber) from head to toe. Update on the Neti Pot: Thanks for your feedback and I totally agree. It’s a love-hate type of thing. I can see how it’s should to work but MAN what an annoying/miserable feeling. I think it’s good because it really loosens months of congestion but bad because I feel like I’m drowning/my head is caving in when I use it. I will keep trying to to see if it clear everything up enough to Anita’s liking.
