The baby’s sensory development is exploding! The brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that baby may be able to hear voices now!
The arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Kidneys continue to make urine and hair on the scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on the skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
I have felt a lot of growing this week. Andrew told me the other morning “you look bigger everyday now!” Normally not a good thing to say but i am secretly flattered. More people are commenting and I love it! The belly is starting to look cute instead of just flabby fat.
These past two weeks my right leg seems to almost go numb and then it jerks before it falls asleep – every time I lay down to rest. The other night I paid close attention to what it felt like and self diagnosed myself after some research with Restless Leg Syndrome. When I was researching, there was a sentence in the explanation that said ‘Restless Leg Syndrome that starts during pregnancy usually goes away soon after the baby is born, most often within days’. This was good because I feel a little less crazy now after reading this is a pregnancy thing but UGH. So, I will try to increase my iron intake and keep exercising. Pray for sleep for me!
