18 Weeks

I can’t believe we’re already at 18 weeks! This means 2 more weeks until our sex party! (When we find out boy/girl…haha). We are actually waiting 3.5 more weeks because my silly work is sending me out of town during the 20th week… ugh. This week we’re looking at a 7 ounce baby about 5.5 inches long like a……. bell pepper!
Last week I FELT MOVEMENT!!!! Wow, it was the coolest thing! It happened twice. Once while I has eating thai chicken for lunch and another during our flight to Austin. I wasn’t 100% sure I was feeling kicks but from all your descriptions and from what I read I am sure it was the baby that made those butterfly flutter movements in my lower stomach!

This week, the blood vessels of baby bell pepper are visible through the thin skin, and the ears are now in their final position, although they’re still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around the nerves, a process that will continue for a year after birth. If it’s a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If it’s a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
I am definitely showing now and broke down last week because of extreme discomfort + fashion frustration and bought maternity jeans. OH MY LORD, everyone should own a pair of maternity pants! I am in love with how comfortable and roomie they are and kinda scared I am going to want to wear them forever. Surprisingly, the are really cute, come in skinny jeans and not too expensive!

  1. Hi! I haven't visited your blog in a while, so here I am catching up. I wanted to share with you that my absolute must-have when it came to maternity jeans was anything with the Secret Fit Belly. That is some kind of trademarked thing, and jeans ranging from lower end Motherhood and higher end Pea in the Pod (or Mimi? I get confused) can have it. The most comfortable, stretchy, staying-up while not looking bulky jeans ever. Once I tried it, I never went back! Well, at least not during pregnancy. Back in real jeans, I kept getting confused at why there were all these buttons and zippers to get down so I could pee. 🙂
