Andrew and I tried to wake up ‘early’ everyday to get a jump-start on the adventures. Although it’s really hard to get up when there is zero light in your cabin, we woke up semi-early Friday to warm air (hallelujah!). We had breakfast with a sweet couple from North Dakota whose daughter had gotten married on the ship the day before. When breakfast was over, we went to the very top of the ship to walk around the track and enjoy the sunshine. There was a little time left before the masses woke up so we tried our hand at working-out while bobbling back and forth. I must say, it was weird stepping off the treadmill onto another moving surface……At noon we landed in Freeport Bahamas!! When a group of 12 steps off the boat and hasn’t a clue what to do……the non-existent pre-planning becomes very noticeable. We made due (of course) and hired a taxi to take us to the best beach on the island. We ended up at Lucayan Beach where beach volleyball, wading in crystal clear water, drinking pina coladas and laying on the white sandy beaches became the afternoon agenda.
Liz, Ashley and I did some souvenir shopping in town before the wild cab driver came to pick us all up. Nathan and our cab driver became fast friends – that’s a whole other story for a whole other blog.
We got back on the ship right as the sun was setting and headed straight to the hot tub for our pre-dinner relaxation ritual.
Friday night was ‘fancy night’ and we again had dinner as a big group.
Lobster and shrimp were on the menu and man-oh-man was it delicious. It was about this night we figured out you could order as many plates as your heart desired – oh so good. Tim really was the master of ordering several of each course and finishing them all.
We all went to “Puttin’ On The Ritz” theater for a comedy show that Ashley and I bailed on pretty early to get to bed and rest up for Nassau.
